Pumpkins and Parties!!!

This was the first year Jessie was allowed to carve her own pumpkin.  She thought about what kind of face she wanted for her pumpkin and then it was down to business.  Very serious business!

Daddy helped Jessie with the finishing touches, while she looked on to make sure Rian was doing ok.

Ta-da!

Here we have (from left to right) Daddy's, Jessie's, Mommy's and Rian's pumpkins.  Hayden's design was so intricate it took a very long time to complete- well past everyone's bedtime.  You can kind of make it out in the picture below (front and center) It is a giaint tarantula.

It's a little past everyone's bedtime in case the faces fooled you.

JESSIE'S PRESCHOOL PARTY

Jessie decided to be a pirate girl this year.  Here she is with all of her friends at Paddington Preschool.

Her BFF from the past three years, Tayteum Gordy.

Miss Jeanine always throws a fabulous Halloween party for the kids.  There was great food, crafts, music and all kinds of different games to entertain the children.  After Jessie's party, we raced up to McGraw for Rian's 1st grade Halloween party.

I must say she really rocked that poodle skirt and those pointy glasses! After everyone had changed into their costumes, the entire school participated in a Halloween parade through all of the classrooms and then headed back to their own classes to eat.

The food spread was quite impressive- complete with foaming witches' brew. I didn't get many pictures because I was helping to run the games (like Halloween Bingo) while the kids were busy eating and visiting. And the other reason is because I accidentally took another mom's camera and was snapping pictures on that one, not realizing we had the same camera until I got home that night and didn't recognize most of the pictures on the memory card!  Oops!

Pumpkin Farm 2012

                                              SOMETHING FROM THE FARM

It was a beautiful Fall day so we decided to take the girls to the pumpkin farm up in Fort Collins.  Even though it wasn't quite as warm as it appears in this picture, Jessie had her mind set to wear her "noodle shirt" from Aunt Jody.

Along the path, Rian found some Indian corn.  And yes, she did try to take a bite!

I am smiling because usually it is so cold when we go searching for our Halloween pumpkins and I was warm with just a light sweatshirt on.

Jessie loved riding in the wheelbarrow around the cornstalks.

And pretty soon, Rian wanted to join in on the fun.

Hayden's new friend from middle school, Skylar, joined us as well.  The girls had fun going off on their own through the different mazes.

After everyone had found their pumpkins, we grabbed dinner at Austin's and then Mike took Hayden and Skylar back to the farm to go through the Haunted Maze.  First they enjoyed some roasted marshmallows by the campfire, and then they had a great time screaming their way through the maze in fright!
